One of our favorite things to do is to leaf through home decor magazines and catalogs full of images and ideas for the holidays. We love to take those pages and recreate the look with items found at Impact Thrift. Add just a few new items combined with what you already have and you can create a wonderful, seasonal holiday table!
Plan your look but shop with an open mind… you can find gorgeous housewares for a fraction of the cost… seen elsewhere for triple the price (we won’t name names!)
For this Thanksgiving table, we chose a harvest colored plaid woven tablecloth and gold cloth napkins. In our bric-a-brac department, we found mini (2″ diameter) grapevine wreaths with faux bittersweet berries to use as napkin rings. To create the centerpiece, we laid a grapevine wreath that was decorated with fall silk mums and placed a faux carvable pumpkin in the center that we filled with more fall silk flowers, leaves and sprays of berries.
For the place settings, we like a layered look: rustic gold colored large dinner plates with delicate vintage ivory china plates on top. The metallic gold edges really stand out against the mustard background. We then layered a dessert plate that was also ivory with a gilded edge in a different pattern, followed by the rustic mustard bowl. To top it off, we set a beautiful red apple in the center. We happened to find perfect faux red apples, you could certainly use real if you prefer.
