Unfortunately, many non-profits, that do incredible work in our communities go unnoticed…they never make it onto our radar screen because their amazing efforts are un-publicized. Well, Impact Thrift is shining a spotlight on a local citizen and grass-root organization in the Ambler community, with tremendous passion, commitment, and dedication to help babies in need….The Baby Bureau.
We’ve invited The Baby Bureau to our Montgomeryville Store on Friday Oct 4th from 12-4. Stop by their table and meet the founder, Fran Wasserman, and learn more about newborns in need.
Fran Wasserman of Fort Washington is the founder of The Baby Bureau, a volunteer non-profit organization that collects items to distribute to mothers in need of clothing for their infants. They collect new and gently-used clothing pieces, they wash and iron them and wrap them into Baby Bundles. These Baby Bundles of clothing for the newborn baby are given to new mothers after delivery in the hospital.
The Baby Bundles are distributed by community social service providers that determine the need. Each bundle is wrapped in a blanket or quilt and contains about 25 items, such as seasonally appropriate clothing, onesies, bibs, hats, shoes and a new baby rattle.
The Baby Bureau believes in Recycle, Reuse, Re-Give, the love…..the need is great.
We hope you’ll be inspired!
