Even with their i’s dotted and their t’s crossed, Girl Scout Troops #2270, #21339 and #2508 from Chalfont woke up on Saturday, March 29th to find that their collection drive would be, well, a bit damp. Not to fear, the rain was no deterrent for these troops. They slid on their rain boots, grabbed their slickers and came determined to fill the donation truck.
Thanks to these strong and persistent 1st and 2nd graders, we can say mission accomplished! With huge smiles on their faces, they greeted donors as their cars pulled into the lot at Pleasantville Church of Christ, took their bags (sometimes half their own size!), and passed them up to more girl scouts waiting on the truck. Their seamless assembly line would put even the logistics experts at UPS to shame.
Impact Thrift is so fortunate that they ‘braved the storm’ to help us support our charities. Fortunately, we never had to doubt that girls’ efforts would be successful. The collection drive wasn’t Impact Thrift’s first time partnering with these ambitious Girl Scouts. Recently, Impact Thrift’s New Media Manager, Jill Tarabar, ran a workshop for Troop #2270 to show them how to create fashion jewelry from their recycled teeshirts!
To mimic these young fashionista’s, you can create your own fashion jewelry by downloading the instructions here.
So THANK YOU, Troops #2270, #21339 and #2508 for providing a great service to your community! We can’t wait to see what our next partnership will look like!
