Last Minute DIY Gift Idea for Mom!

Finished Mother's Day Planter quick and easy DIY upcycle project for momMother’s Day always sneaks up on us (me!)… here’s a last minute DIY gift idea that you can create in no time with no “artistic skills!”

Mom will love it!

Pick mom’s favorite colors and go… just don’t use up all of her nail polish in the process!

You will need:

Nail polish in Mom’s favorite colors or colors to match her home decor and a small planter or ceramic pot. The planter can be clay, ceramic, glass or plastic. Then all you need is a flower or plant!

Be sure to open a window or complete this project outdoors as good ventilation is needed when working with nail polish due to the fumes!

Here’s how:

beginning to pour blue nail polish on planter as mother's day diy projectFirst, cover your work surface with newspaper or drop cloth. Place planter up-side-down on the covered work surface.

Shake the nail polish jar to mix completely.

Then, open one nail polish jar and carefully pour the nail polish along edge of flower pot base so that it drips down the sides of the pot. Try not to pour too quickly… some polish will come out of the jar more quickly than others – In our example, the purple/blue was very thick and gloppy while the brown poured very quickly and was thinner.

Repeat this process with an additional color (or more) if you choose.

Once it’s dry, turn it over, plant a plant and watch mom smile!
