It was announced last August that the building that houses the current Norristown Impact Thrift Store would be demolished. We are thrilled that as part of the Norristown Centre redevelopment project, Impact Thrift Stores will be moving into a new space… Still hard to see what’s going on in there but the steel is going up for walls and some awesome progress is being made!

Take a look:

Impact Thrift Stores new Norristown location is a hard hat construction zone in norristown pa

The new Impact Thrift Store will be 40 percent larger and located on the second level of the building directly behind the current store. There will be entrances from both parking levels.

“The move will give us the opportunity to stock more clothing, books, household goods and furniture in a beautiful new space,” said Gray Wirth, President and CEO at Impact Thrift Stores, Inc.

“We are very excited to make this commitment to the revitalization of the Norristown Centre,” said Wirth.  “We are committed to providing access to great shopping values and great jobs in Norristown and the surrounding communities.”

According to published reports, the center will also host a PA Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driver testing area and photo licensing center. The DMV currently has a testing facility on Markley Street in East Norriton.  Royal Farms will also build a large gas station and convenience store on the site.

Congratulations on the new location and staying practically in the same space. I live in Blue Bell so I am truly between both Montgomeryville and Norristown locations and I prefer Norristown hands down. Norristown’s location is just more inviting and better organized as I can see that is a big job to keep things straight. People that run this location are very warm and friendly. I have always had a interest in thrift store finds my entire life and I go weekly. It’s a great stress relief for me after an intense work week. I look forward to my time of browsing and always finding that special knick knack, book or painting.
Again, best of luck in your new location I’m sure you will still do an amazing job.

    • Thank you Bea! Our new location promises to be even more inviting and well organized. It will have better lighting, a larger selection in every department and much of the same warm and friendly staff. Jill

How exciting to know that my Norristown location will be bigger and brighter with much more space for all the wonderful merchandise.that Impact has to offer. I shop in EVERY Impact store and never leave empty-handed! Impact plays an important role in our community and we are fortunate to have such a “treasure” right here in Norristown.

I was one of the first in line at the Feasterville opening and I plan on being there for our local reopening! Everyone we met from Impact that day was so welcoming and personable. It was easily apparent how much they all believe in and care about Impact’s mission – and their customers, too.

Congratulations. I’m sure our local store will be a huge success!
